C4Yourself

Background
The California counties of Merced, Riverside, San Bernardino, Stanislaus, members of the Statewide Automated Welfare System (SAWS), and Consortium IV (C-IV) partnered with Community Based Organizations (CBOs) and agencies in an exciting and innovative initiative for making the Food Stamp Program (FSP) more accessible to the public.

June 2, 2006

C-IV Joint Power Authority (JPA) Board approved Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) Food Stamp Program Participation Grant.
June 6, 2006 C-IV submitted the 2006 FNS Food Stamp Program Participation Grant Application. The proposal requested One $1M from the Food and Nutrition Service Agency to add a component called C4Yourself to the existing C-IV System which would allow customers to apply for the Food Stamp Program via the public Internet.
Sept 7, 2006 The Agriculture Secretary announced the $1M grant award to C-IV.
Oct 29, 2007 The project began October 2006 and was successfully completed October 2007. On October 29, 2007 C4Yourself went live.
