How
will the Statewide Fingerprint Imaging System
(SFIS) and MEDS systems interface with C-IV? There
is no planned interface for C-IV with SFIS. However, C-IV will
be able to search for and obtain CIN numbers from the Statewide
Client Index, eliminating the need to do this through the SFIS
system. Additionally, C-IV will interface with MEDS, updloading
information on a nightly basis and returning MEDS alerts that
will be accessed and viewed online by the worker.

How
and where does the C-IV System search for customers?
Does it cross reference MEDS? The C-IV
System searches within its own data for customers. Data that will
have been converted from legacy systems will be available depending
on the details of the data conversion process. C-IV will not automatically
search MEDS. Workers will continue to research customers on MEDS
separately.

Will
C-IV display cases assigned to Child Welfare
Services? If a case is handled soley
by Child Welfare Services, C-IV will not contain any information
regarding these cases. However, C-IV will include Foster Care

What
is your plan to integrate into existing county
networks? The C-IV project team is in
the midst of assessing current technical environments within the
counties in order to determine which products to integrate with
the C-IV system. Some products will be replaced by the C-IV system
itself. There is a plan in place which will allow county individuals
to test the system in a lab located in Sacramento. This test environment
will allow county individuals to be sure county network integrations
have been successful.

Does
C-IV include Cash Assistance Program for Immigrants
(CAPI) and General Assistance (GA)? CAPI
will be issued using the C-IV system. GA is out of scope for C-IV.
The rationale behind this decision was that since the program
is fully county funded the state would not pay for its automation.
The issue of how the counties will handle the GA payments is still
being determined.

Will
the system be compatible with the Medi-Cal

interface with CWS/CMS. C-IV will receive information regarding
foster care placements (mainly SOC158 type of information) via
a daily batch one-way interface (from CWS/CMS to C-IV). CWS/CMS
interface will alert the appropriate C-IV worker that data has
been changed on CWS/CMS (C-IV data will not be overwritten by
the new CWS/CMS data). It will be up to the worker to enter the
appropriate data that he/she wants to keep in C-IV.
