Migration

Goals and Objectives
The primary objective of the migration project is to provide ISAWS counties and the customers they serve with a viable solution to meet their long term automation needs. Other key objectives include:
  • Transition and consolidation from four SAWS Consortia to three;
  • Transition and consolidation from four consortia systems to three;
  • Reduce duplicate application maintenance costs;
  • Reduce duplicate long-term operational costs;
  • Enhance program uniformity; and
  • Improve client service.
The C-IV system will provide the ISAWS Counties with a forward-looking automated welfare and employment system that addresses the business needs of California counties. C-IV will alleviate the significant technical constraints and risks associated with ISAWS that are directly related to the longevity of the technology and the ease with which the system can be maintained.

The C-IV system uses modern software and hardware configurations with open technology that will be widely supported well into the future. The software and hardware configurations, as well as the open technology architecture will make upcoming changes easier to address, which will also allow more resources to be available to support the software. In addition, the newer system and technology will minimize the need for manual workarounds and system overrides and will reduce training requirements.

After migration is complete, these factors will result in counties being able to reduce errors and devote resources to the delivery of timely and accurate benefits and services to clientele.
