If a program has less than 30 employees in an office, will at least one C-IV Coach be trained in each office? Yes, at least once C-IV Coach will be trained in each office.

I understand the system was designed for a worker with six months experience. Does that mean that a worker with less than six months experience will not receive training? All C-IV users will be trained how to operate the C-IV System, regardless of their tenure with the county. Each county will work with their new hires to develop the program, procedure and policy knowledge that is essential to independently performing their jobs. Each county will also determine when it is appropriate for new staff to use the C-IV System on their own.

Will there be help available on everypage of the system? Yes, it is planned that there will be one online help page for every page in the C-IV System.

What training will be available? The C-IV training program will provide the user community with the necessary skills to effectively navigate the C-IV system. Please see the Training page of this website for more information.

What type and how much training will staff receive? The amount and specific type of training will be associated with staff's C-IV role. The goal is to provide training that relates to staffs' specific C-IV tasks.

How long prior to release will training be provided? It is our goal to complete training for each user no more than four weeks prior to each release.

How will county Training be impacted with C-IV? The county Training Department, will not conduct the new system training at first, but what about the future? The initial premise is that the counties will assume the responsibility for training after each release. A plan for transitioning C-IV training materials and capabilities to the county training departments is included in the training analysis effort. A network of staff develoment experts from each county is working through the training transition approach.

Will trainers have to train staff on how to use computers? C-IV is going to provide basic Internet / Intranet Navigation Skills training to staff identified as needing such a course. Staff will complete a survey during the C-IV Demonstrations this summer (2002) that will help identify the appropriate Students for the course.

What will C-IV Coaches do? There are approximately 440 C-IV Coaches that will assist county staff with the transition to the C-IV System. The C-IV Coaches will:
  • Distribute information from the C-IV Project to their co-workers
  • Attend training prior to the rest of the staff
  • Answer simple C-IV related questions and refer staff to the appropriate resources for more involved questions

Would it be possible to make C-IV training specific to a user's role? It is good to know the overall function of the System but it would be nice to be trained on our program as well (Foster Care). Training will be provided to enable the user to perform their specific job using the C-IV system. Foster Care staff will receive training on eligibility pages which will include Foster Care specific pages.
